She began her career as a second-grade teacher while earning her Master’s degree. However, through a series of amazing circumstances, she found herself working as a teacher in Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles. It was there that she found her passion for working with the incarcerated. Through her journey, she has worked at California Men’s Colony Prison as Supervising Counselor and helped to launch the Long-Term Offender Program for the lifer population. She also worked at the Santa Barbara County Jail Sheriff Treatment Program and was involved with the launch of their direct supervision units. It is her passion for seeing the lost and forgotten restored and the fact that she has never met a “throw away person” that brings her to Restorative Partners.
