Women's Honor Farm Sewing Project
November 18th, 2015
Yesterday, the women on the Honor Farm presented 100 handmade Afghans to the Prado Day Center and Maxine Lewis Memorial Center. Women on the Honor Farm have learned and crafted tirelessly over the last year in our Sewing Program to create this, the largest gift from the program to-date, given to families in need during this chilly holiday season. Five of the women shared their stories and stressed how giving back to the community drives their newfound sense of purpose and place. The importance of community members working together to weave change was palpable as the Honor Farm women, the Sheriff, the Under Sheriff, Correctional Deputies, CAPSLO representatives and Restorative Partners’ volunteers all shared in the enormity of this gift. A huge thank you to everyone whose donations and volunteer hours made this possible!
