Book Club at Juvenile Hall
April 29th, 2015
Teen Spirit: One world, Many Paths by Paul B. Raushenbush was our pick for the February Book Club at Juvenile Hall. It was a big hit with our youth. They were eager to learn about different faith traditions and provided our Interfaith Panelists with challenging questions such as “Was there a moment, or a time you had a “religious experience” that guided your choice in becoming a religious leader? What in your tradition could encourage or discourage radical fundamentalism or terrorism? If God is real, why do bad things till happen? Can faith and science coexist, like evolution? How does your religion view suicide? Is it a sin? Does your religion reject getting tattoos? If so why? All of the youth wanted to continue this conversation. We look forward to bringing the panel back soon.
